FAQS

  • ¿What is Alopecia or Baldness?

We talk about Alopecia when there is an unusual hair loss, and you begin to see bald areas on the scalp. The causes in most cases are genetic, hormonal changes, and age.

  • ¿Is there any treatment other than hair transplantation?

There are multiple treatments to stop hair loss, but only manage to delay it for a while, hair transplant is the only procedure that manages to get hair to grow in areas where it no longer did, and that generates new follicles.

  • ¿What types of baldness are candidates for a hair transplant?

All cases that present androgenic alopecias, whether male or female. Also alopecias that are product of scars or traumas can be treated with hair grafts.

  • ¿What is hair transplant or hair transplant?

The procedure of capillary grafting is to obtain hair from an area of the head where there is a greater density of follicles, (this is usually the back of the head) and then cover with these follicles the area affected by alopecia.

  • ¿At what age can hair transplant be done?

Hair transplantation can be performed in patients of any age, who are able to receive treatment. Although it is not recommended to do it before 22 years of age since it is a very premature stage of the fall. In any case, at CapilClinic we care about studying each patient, guaranteeing proper attention to individual needs.

  • ¿What does FUE mean?

Extracción Individual de los Folículos, por sus siglas en inglés F.U.E. de FollicularUnitExtraction

  • ¿What are the Follicular Units?

It is the way in which the hair is grouped. These follicular units are made up of 1, 2, 3, or 4 hairs, and also include dermal papillae, glands, subcutaneous fats, and follicles.

  • ¿What is the technique F.U.E.?

The F.U.E technique allows the follicular units of the donor area to be safely and effectively extracted one by one and grafted in the same procedure in the recipient area. The intervention must be carried out exclusively by professionals with experience in the area, since its correct execution requires prior training.

  • ¿What is the DHI technique?

The DHI technique involves carefully inserting the hair follicle into a hollow needle at the end of the IMPLANTER pen. This is then introduced, pressing down to implant the graft, at an angle with an inclination of 40-45 degrees in the scalp,

  • ¿How long is the intervention?

From 6 to 7 hours is usually the total duration of a complete session, with scheduled breaks, so that the patient and the doctor can rest, since during the session of F.U.E 3,500 to 5,500 grafts are performed.

  • ¿Is the post-operative painful?

Once the effect of local anesthesia has passed, the patient will not feel any pain. However, to suppress any discomfort, analgesics will be indicated.

  • ¿Does the result look natural?

By distributing the capillary graft homogeneously in the receiving area, a natural result is guaranteed, with which the patient will feel satisfied. The success of the transplants we perform in CapilClinic is due to the results offered by our hair grafts.

  • ¿Is the result permanent?

The grafted follicles retain their genetic characteristics in the receptor area, so they are expected to last a lifetime.

  • ¿Does the intervention leave any scars?

The hair transplant procedure does not leave a scar.

  • ¿Is there a decrease in hair in the donor area?

The DHI technique and the FUE guarantee that the donor area recovers its foliage, that includes the most severe cases in which it has had to extract between 5,000 and 6,000 follicles.

  • ¿Does Hair Transplant Really Work?

98% of the grafted follicles survive. This procedure is the only treatment capable of making hair grow in the areas where it had fallen,

  • ¿When can I travel after the operation?

You can travel the day after the intervention if you need it.

  • ¿How much time is needed to return to the daily routine after the operation?

The patient will be able to resume their usual daily routine after 2 or 3 days of having surgery.

  • ¿When can I start seeing the results?

During the first month the transplanted hair falls and three months later it begins to grow permanently. This is part of the process, so there is nothing to worry about. Twelve months after the operation you can see the result

  • ¿How many sessions do I need to repopulate my head?

The individual characteristics of each patient (type of hair loss, thickness of hair, density of donor area, age and size of the head) determine if it is necessary to perform more than one procedure, however, in the majority of cases treated, it is usually enough with an intervention.
